Hi! Thank you for checking out my site. Although the Launchpad Canvas page will be our main hub for communication and learning, I will have some extra items here. Plus, if Canvas crashes, you have another way to get information and contact me. I have been teaching fourth grade for five years now, and it is by far my favorite grade to teach! So much fun! As you can see, I love to travel and take pictures when I am not working.
This was part of a bigger picture, and I was excited when I cropped it and it turned out so amazing. We saw a really adorable black bear cub near here (we named him Bruce). We watched Bruce jump all around in the bushes for quite a while. We stayed in the car and we were quiet, so Bruce didn't notice us. Safety first!
I only had a half day to explore this area. First, I started out hiking this long trail named Chapel Loop/Mosquito Falls in the rain. Yes, I figured out why they named it Mosquito Falls. I changed my mind and decided to go to this trail instead, which turned out to be a very short, very pretty trail. This is Miner's Castle.
We hiked for a bit on the Appalachian Trail. On this day, there was a mist in the air, and I think it made everything even more picturesque. There were a lot of bear warning signs, and it was pretty difficult terrain. We want to go back and hike some bigger sections of the Appalachian Trail now that we know how incredible it is.
I'm lucky to call Dave my husband. Dave works hard, and he is incredibly kind and patient. Not to mention, funny. Plus, he is a really, really good cook. We like to call Dave and put him on speakerphone. He always impresses us with his super-speed mental math computations and expert knowledge on all things related to science.
One of them is very well-behaved. The other is not. Lucky for us, Tiki is behaving better and better (or maybe just sleeping more, way more). When he was a puppy, he would jump up onto the kitchen table, the desk, everywhere. Now Tiki is into acting silly, playing catch, and napping. Zoe is a junior in high school and almost has her driver's license. Yikes! When she was younger, she danced and did theater, but in high school, she decided to focus on her academics. She's a great kid, and we have a lot of fun together.
